Just yesterday, we saw the German media claiming Xabi Alonso would pick Liverpool over Bayern Munich for his next job.

It was claimed that the Bayer Leverkusen boss has the Reds in ‘first place’ in his ‘personal ranking’ of clubs he could take charge of.

Now as TZ features a new story on Alonso’s future, it seems Liverpool indeed have a big advantage over Bayern Munich.

It’s now claimed that the manager has ‘massive doubts’ about a move to the Bundesliga giants because of the ongoing ‘chaos’ there.

TZ says that instead of taking charge of Bayern Munich, Alonso would actually rather stay in Leverkusen or take the job at Liverpool to replace Jurgen Klopp.

Since his current side are very likely to keep the squad together for the Champions League next season, that’s something that attracts him towards staying for another year.

Now in case he decides to go, then Liverpool stand as the most likely option. The outlet mentions that several managers have been unable to work well in Munich and that’s not a challenge Alonso is keen on taking right now, especially since he would have more of a say in all matters at Anfield than he would in Bavaria.
