Two months ago, Cope stated Tottenham Hotspur have met with Giorgi Mamardashvili’s agent over a potential deal for the Valencia goalkeeper.
Spurs had Hugo Lloris as their first-choice stopper last season and he has expressed his desire to leave the north London club. This has seen them look for his replacement in the market.
Radio Marca state Mamardashvili could be an option for Tottenham as he’s received interest from them.
It’s claimed the La Liga side have ‘put the Georgian goalkeeper up for sale’ in the summer. His representative, Levan Seturidze, is currently working with an agent who resides in Valencia.
Despite interest from Tottenham and others, Los Ches haven’t received an official offer so far. The report points out there’s been no formal meeting between the 22-year-old’s agent and Valencia.
Mamardashvili, who has a €100m clause, is valued at €50m. Marca state the situation at the Spanish club has ‘greatly weakened’ and it has resulted in the stopper’s price drop, which will ‘not exceed €20-25m’.
Tottenham and others could take him on a favourable deal. He’s one of the goalkeepers with ‘great projection in Europe’ and his agent is convinced they’ll receive an offer that will satisfy Valencia.
