Seven goals and seven assists is a nice even total for Pedro in the Premier League so far this season. It’s already better than last season and things are certainly looking brighter for the Spaniard.
In his last four Chelsea games, Pedro has managed 3 goals and two assists, and it’s the sort of form Julen Lopetegui cannot ignore. Pedro was one of the players to lose out when Lopetegui took over from Vicente del Bosque, but Spanish newspaper Marca say that’s about to change.
Lopetegui has spoken to Pedro about his form, and Marca believe the Chelsea player will be announced in the national squad on Friday. If Marca are correct, Pedro is also likely to be joined by Marcos Alonso, who could make his debut for the national side, thanks to good form under Antonio Conte this season.
Pedro and Alonso would be joined by Diego Costa and Cesar Azpilicueta, even Cesc Fabregas has a chance of returning to the Spanish set-up.
It’s all happy days at the moment for Chelsea’s Spanish contingent, a long way from where things were last season.
