‘Bombazo’ (Bombshell) shout El Desmarque in typical fashion.
The Spanish website, always keen on big Real Madrid claims, reports today there’s been developments in the future of James Rodriguez: ‘This offer changes everything’.
Everton are the club in question, and whilst it’s stated Napoli, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Roma and Marseille all have the player on their agenda, it’s the Toffees who seem to be in ‘pole position’.
El Desmarque’s reasoning for all of this is Carlo Ancelotti. The manager worked with Rodriguez at Real Madrid, and there were claims in the summer that he wanted the player at Napoli.
The article then goes on to state the Real Madrid player is Ancelotti’s first request, and his price would be ‘about €50m’.
Handily, Everton are preparing an offer of ‘about €50m’, and Rodriguez would be able to meet up with his friend Yerry Mina.
El Desmarque even go on to state ‘everything indicates’ the player will sign for Everton.
This all feels very much like speculation dressed up (in parts, in other parts it’s clearly presented as speculation) as something more concrete. Yet, it’s fair to say Ancelotti did get on with the player, and the Napoli links did exist.
