Earlier this week France’s Footmercato reported that Habib Habibou was training with Bolton Wanderers.
Having received offers from several other clubs, Habibou had so far turned everything down, keen to give a return to England a chance.
That may be a surprise given his last Championship experience wasn’t hugely successful. Habibou had a spell with Leeds United, on loan from Belgian club Zulte Waregem, and wasn’t able to impress.
Despite having an option to discuss a permanent deal, Leeds United passed it up, and Habibou’s time at Elland Road was limited to a few appearances.
The striker’s Bolton trial was due to end today, but it seems that’s also been fruitless. FootMercato now report, via their journalist Dahbia Hattabi that Habibou has been unable to agree terms with the club.
Bolton et Habibou (à l’essai) n’ont pas trouvé d’accord financier pour le moment. Il va reprendre les entraînements à Lens.

It’s a financial problem, and unless things quickly change between the former Leeds United loanee and Bolton, he’ll return to training with Lens.
