Beşiktaş are currently attempting to sign Zeki Amdouni from Burnley, and it’s a transfer chase which has caught the attention of the club’s fans.

There’s been social media campaigns to convince the player, and it’s prompted by one of his parents being Turkish and there being a picture circulating of him wearing a Beşiktaş shirt as a child.

Amdouni spent last season on loan with Benfica. He had a mixed time with the Lisbon club and they haven’t used their clause to sign him. That gives an opportunity to Beşiktaş and others who want to sign the Burnley player.

Wednesday’s edition of Sabah reports the Super Lig club are determined to get a deal done for the 24-year-old, but they believe Burnley’s asking price is too high.

The Clarets are said to be asking for €20m, and as a counter-offer, Beşiktaş have said they’ll simply loan him instead. That doesn’t appear a great twist in negotiations for Burnley, who will want the money to add to their own transfer kitty.

Beşiktaş will likely have to think again.
