Bojan is in a bit of a pickle.

On loan at Alaves from Stoke City for the season, the move hasn’t exactly gone well. Starting a handful of games, Bojan has nothing to show for it in terms of goals or assists and Alaves have had enough.

The Spanish club are in a battle against relegation and want to bring players in, but they need to get rid of some high earners as well, and Bojan is one of those. Whatever percentage of Bojan’s Stoke City wage that Alaves are paying, it’s too much for them and they want him out.

There’s been a club decision to exclude Bojan from playing, and that led to a ‘tense’ conversation between the player and Alaves’ director of sport, according to claims on Thursday.

In Friday’s edition of Marca, tucked away in a small paragraph on page 20, is a claim Bojan ‘has no intention of leaving’ Alaves in January.

If he does leave he has to go back to Stoke, because FIFA forbids footballers playing for more than two clubs in one season, and he’s already appeared for the Potters.

It’s an absolute mess.
