Among the players left behind by Chelsea on their pre-season tour, Romelu Lukaku is now waiting for his future to be resolved.
Having burned all bridges to Inter Milan, the Belgium international now has the option of heading to Saudi Arabia or waiting for Juventus.
Corriere dello Sport have an article on the Chelsea player’s situation on Friday morning, where they cover everything that has happened to date and what could materialise in the future.
They point out Lukaku is being kept in the loop of what is going on behind the scenes by his lawyer, Sébastien Ledure, with the most pressing interest coming from Saudi Arabia.
This is still something the forward would be reluctant to agree to, wanting to stay in the heights of European football, which is where Juventus come in.
He has already reached an agreement with them over a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, but they cannot afford the €40m fee unless they sell Dusan Vlahovic.
Right now, the Chelsea player only has the Juventus shirt ‘on his mind’, but there’s no denying that the patience required and no solutions on the horizon for the time means he cannot ‘sleep peacefully’ these days.
