Real Madrid have the option to buy back Alvarto Morata from Juventus for €30m from July 1st to July 15th this year, and they’re likely to exercise the option.
However, it’s not clear if they’d sell him to another club for a profit or keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 23-year-old is keen on staying at Real Madrid, but his performances during the Euros could decide his future.
Morata was on the scoresheet against Turkey, and rumours about Madrid wanting to keep him beyond summer were then pretty much expected from the Spanish media.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, things have changed in the last few hours, and Madrid want to keep Morata next season as Benzema’s understudy.
Morata, on the other hand, doesn’t want to be the second choice at Bernabeu, and wants regular playing time.
AS reckon Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United are interested in signing Morata, but it now appears they should wait.
His agent Juanma Lopez was spotted at the Bernabeu yesterday, and Real Madrid could have possibly communicated their decision to him.
It’s Real Madrid’s decision to make. Morata would get assurances about playing time and Madrid could keep their player.
The situation seems to be a bit complicated, which is fertile ground for rumours, and Morata scoring goals can only help that.
