Fotomac claim Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has rejected an offer from Celtic as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad before the Scottish window closes.
The Belgian defender has already said no to Leeds United according to some reports in Turkey, and Fotomac today claim he’s also rejected an approach from the Scottish Premiership champions.
According to Fotomac, Celtic have made a loan offer to Manchester City for Denayer, but the 23-year old has rejected the chance to head to Celtic Park.
It now seems Rodgers will have to look elsewhere if he wants to bring in a defender this summer.
The Turkish newspaper say Denayer has told Manchester City officials he only wants to join Galatasaray and he doesn’t want to play for another club. The Belgian spent last season on loan with the Super Lig champions.
Galatasaray are hoping to sign the Manchester City player before the Turkish window closes.
It’s worth pointing out that the Turkish media do at times seem very biased in favour of their own clubs, so this may not be dead for Celtic yet.
