Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz was at Villarreal this week to watch their clash with Cádiz ahead of his move to the Spanish club.
That’s according to Marca, who say the Chilean made the trip to Spain as he is ‘already trying to get used to’ his new club.
Diaz’s contract with Blackburn expires at the end of this season and it has already been decided he will be leaving Ewood Park, with a deal to join Villarreal agreed.
He has signed a four-year deal with the La Liga side and was at the La Cerámica stadium on Wednesday to watch the win over Cádiz.
He witnessed fellow striker Nicolas Jackson continue his hot streak of form, a player he was ironically signed as a replacement for as he was close to joining Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
That fell through when the Cherries found problems during his medical and Jackson remained in Spain, where he worked on his rehabilitation and has since went on a ‘goalscoring explosion’ that has him earning admirers from all corners.
One of them is sure to be Brereton Diaz, who was in the stands to watch him score again this week as he does his homework ahead of his move from Blackburn in the summer.
