Blackburn Rovers are chasing Malmö FF centre-back Colin Rösler and have made initial contact with the Swedish side about a deal for the 25-year-old.

That’s according to Sportbladet, who report that the defender is being ‘chased’ by Blackburn thanks to his performances for the Swedish club.

The newspaper explains that Rösler has been impressing since arriving at the club in August 2024 and been a regular this season, with 13 appearances and one goal in the Allsvenskan to date. He’s also played in two Champions League qualifiers and bagged an assist.

That’s led to Blackburn showing interest in him and initial contacts have been opened by Rovers regarding a possible signing.

Malmö’s sporting direction Daniel Andersson has confirmed there is interest, in Rösler and several other of their players, but it remains to be seen what price he asks for. It’s also unclear how he and the club will approach the prospect of selling Rösler.

For now, it appears that Blackburn are just asking the question rather than fully committing themselves to a transfer, but it could be a situation to keep an eye in the coming weeks.
