Takvim report Istanbul clubs Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are set to go head to head for the signature of Manchester United attacker Juan Mata.

The Spanish midfielder will become a free agent at the end of the month and according to Turkish newspaper the two clubs are interested in signing the 31 year old.

Both have reportedly held talks with Mata’s agent, Juan Rodriguez, and Takvim say they’ve offered a lucrative signing on fee for his client.

There is uncertainty over the future of the former Spain international and whether he will remain at Old Trafford. His contract expires in the coming weeks, but he wasn’t included on the Premier League side’s released list last week and has been offered a renewal.

It’s reported Valencia and Sevilla are also chasing Mata but their offers to the attacker are not as lucrative as those from the two Super Lig clubs.

The former Chelsea player made 22 league appearances for Manchester United last season, scoring three goals.
