Heracles Almelo winger Emil Hansson is closing in on a move to Birmingham City, with an agreement on personal terms ‘good as finalised’.

That’s according to Voetbal International, who say the two clubs are also on the verge of reaching an agreement for the player.

A report earlier today in Sweden indicated that Birmingham had made their move for Hansson, with a €1.4m deal reportedly on the cards.

That indicated that the Blues move for the winger was progressing quickly and he should be on his way to Birmingham sooner rather than later.

VI now pick up on that and report that Hansson seems to be leaving Heracles Almelo this summer, with a move as good as finalised and the two clubs close to reaching an agreement for him.

According to their information a deal between Birmingham and Heracles has not yet been struck but both clubs hope to be able to shake hands sooner rather than later.

The League One side appear willing to pay almost €2m for the Swede, who has entered the final year of his deal with the Dutch club. That means they are keen to sell this summer to ensure they get something for him and don’t lose him on a free next year.

Thus, the deal with Birmingham has advanced quickly and should be completed sooner rather than later, with personal terms also in the final stages.
