Ever since it was reported in Italy that Birmingham City have made an offer to Robin Quaison, more and more clubs have been added to the list of competition. It was hard enough to begin with, Quaison currently plays for Palmero, and Hoffenheim have been interested for some time.
The midfielder’s contract runs out in the summer and he’s set to move on a free transfer, which is what Birmingham are interested in, but some clubs have been considering snatching him away in January, including AS Roma and Sampdoria.
Added to all of this, Birmingham’s offer also spurred Palmero into trying to come up with a better contract offer themselves, and therefore working to keep the 23 year old Swede.
Gazzetta dello Sport report on Sunday that there’s Juventus interest too, with the possibility of buying the player in conjunction with Empoli, so Quaison would actually play for the Tuscan club.
At least it shows Gianfranco Zola’s men are identifying good targets, albeit difficult to sign targets.
