According to claim in the German media in the past few hours, Birmingham City can move in on Union Berlin defender Kristian Pedersen once it’s officially confirmed his reported replacement Ken Reichel has signed for the Bundesliga 2 side.
Yesterday there were reports Reichel had signed for the German side after eleven seasons at Eintracht Frankfurt, but a deal has yet to be confirmed by Union Berlin.
Bild report Reichel is close to sign a two year contract with Union Berlin which would allow Pedersen to sign for Birmingham.
According to the German newspaper, Union Berlin sporting director Oliver Ruhnert doesn’t want to confirm Reichel’s arrival just yet, but it’s only a matter of time.
Pedersen been linked with a move to Birmingham City in recent weeks after previous claims Leeds United also wanted to sign him.
With the Dane entering into the final year of his contract with the German club, Birmingham City would be able to sign him for just €2.5m.
