West Ham aren’t having the best start to the season, and certainly not what was expected after the good previous campaign.
The club’s stadium change hasn’t brought the boost that was hoped for and there’s been all kinds of settling in problems. The atmosphere isn’t as good and fall-outs between supporters have been an embarrassment for the club.
Results have matched the gloomy outlook and Slaven Bilic’s position has come under some question. Beating Crystal Palace may well have changed things, and West Ham can now kick-on, but French newspaper L’Equipe believes there was an approach to Rudi Garcia.
The former AS Roma manager has now taken over at Marseille and he’s been speaking to L’Equipe.
Garcia was asked about a last minute approach to take over at West Ham instead, and whether it had made him think about things differently: “Obviously. I studied everything. Whether the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga… I went where I felt the most wanted.”
Whilst Garcia didn’t confirm the approach, he certainly appeared to hint at it, especially given the L’Equipe question was specifically about West Ham.
