Tottenham and Liverpool have been dragged into the Jonas Hector to Barcelona transfer rumour, which has been growing in the Spanish and German media.
Both clubs have been linked previously, despite the idea not making much sense for Spurs.
Unless Tottenham see Hector as a utility squad addition, given he can play left back, left wing, and in midfield, then they don’t need him right now.
It’s not quite such a stacked position at Liverpool, but if the club see Alberto Moreno as their long term option then there’s not a great deal of need there either. If Jurgen Klopp isn’t convinced by the Spaniard then it’s an interesting opportunity.
German newspaper Bild have picked up the claims from Spain and then done a bit of digging.
Hector currently plays for FC Koln and the club’s sporting director Jörg Schmadtke told them: “There is no offer for Jonas Hector.”
Bild say Barcelona have contacted the player’s representative, and were interested in a deal at €18m. However, FC Koln want €30m, and Bild state the English clubs are ‘not scared’ by that amount.
