That led the French media to say Paris Saint Germain are following the player. And now, Portuguese newspapers A Bola and Jornal de Notícias come up to recall that the English clubs may offer some competition to the Ligue 1 side.
What both outlets do is to point out that in recent months, Manchester United and Newcastle had been named as potential destinations for Gonçalo Inácio.
Something interesting comes from A Bola, who say Sporting are working to renew the defender’s contract and make his release clause go from €45m to €80m.
That means they have the ‘intention’ of making Gonçalo Inácio’s sale the biggest in the club’s history, surpassing Bruno Fernandes, who left for Old Trafford for €55m.It’s recently been said by the Portuguese media that the defender may not be very interested in joining Newcastle, as he seeks a bigger club and that would give Manchester United an advantage.
