After losing their first four league matches, Manuel Pellegrini won his first game in the Premier League as West Ham United manager thanks to his side’s 3-1 victory over Everton.

Part of that was thanks to Andriy Yarmolenko, who had to wait until mid September to make his first start in the league for his new club, despite already featuring in the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon.

He impressed against the Merseyside club, scoring twice, and the Ukrainian winger’s display for West Ham has seen him make Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week on Monday.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund man was given a rating of eight, which is the third highest rating after Eden Hazard’s nine and the 8.5 given to Lille’s Nicolas Pépé.

It’s a big turnaround for Pellegrini’s side and the Chilean will be hopeful the 28-year-old will continue to impress next week against Chelsea on September 23rd.
