Dodi Lukebakio is on the verge of signing for Hertha Berlin, according to Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe.
The reason for French interest is that Lille have been looking to sign the Watford owned player. In fact, he’d been the clubs priority option for the summer transfer window as they looked to life without Nicolas Pepe.
However, their idea of a valuation was always likely to find no joy at Watford. As stated by the French newspaper today, Lille’s offer is somewhere around €12m plus a further €3m in bonuses, and even if they raise that a little it’s not going to beat competitors.
According to the claims, Hertha have ‘formulated’ an offer around €20m and would give the player a five year contract.
Such an offer is thought to be able to ‘satisfy’ Watford, although it would be no surprise if the Hornets continue to push for a little more.
There’s not really a lot on this in Germany right now, but it appears Lille believe they’re losing out to Hertha.
