There’s good news and bad news coming from Italy on Monday regarding Aston Villa and Krzysztof Piatek.
First up, let’s take the good news.
Il Giorno’s Milan edition reports the Rossoneri are only looking at a permanent sale this month and have rejected all loan approaches which have arrived. That includes one from Tottenham Hotspur.
As far as a permanent transfer offers go, it’s stated Milan would like something such as the €28/30m ‘put on the table’ by Aston Villa. This offer, which is claimed to have happened, would be acceptable and Piatek could then move clubs this month.
Unfortunately, the player gets a say too and this is where the bad news comes in. Piatek hasn’t given the ‘green light’ to signing for Aston Villa, presumably believing he can wait for something more attractive.
He didn’t get off the bench at the weekend as AC Milan beat Cagliari 2-0, with new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring the club’s second goals.
Villa’s chances likely depend on who else comes in over the next week or so.
