The Italian media won’t let go of the idea of Anthony Martial moving to Juventus in the summer transfer window, and specifically the claim that his agent is working with the Turin club on a summer move.
Martial to Juventus claims really got going in early March, which led Philippe Lamboley, the player’s agent, to say ‘all that has been reported in the Italian papers about my client is false’ and deny claims he’d met the club.
But the agent of the Frenchman, who is struggling to get prominence under Jose Mourinho, did add: “Will he stay at Manchester in the summer? At the moment, I cannot say anything else about it.”
Italy’s Rai Sport, picked up by Calciomercato and others, say Martial to Juventus is ‘a work in progress’ and that meetings will continue with the player’s agent.
It’s clear they’ve completely ignored Lamboley previous denials that he’d held any meetings with Juve, or perhaps they feel he was just saying that for Manchester United’s benefit.
Martial hasn’t featured in the Premier League since February 22nd and whilst the Juventus claims may be all a product of Italian imagination, the 22 year old may consider his Manchester United future in the summer if he’s not used much between now and then.
