Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Jadon Sancho this summer, despite reports to the contrary.

The Reds were linked with the Borussia Dortmund star earlier this week, with a report from BILD in Germany stating that he could be an option if Mohammed Salah moves on.

The newspaper explained that Jürgen Klopp was a big fan of the Englishman, and his performances had not gone unnoticed by the German boss.

Thus, BILD posited he could be a replacement for Salah should he decide to leave, with the Egyptian having hinted heavily on several occasions that he wants to leave Liverpool come the summer.

Indeed, it was believed that Dortmund’s high asking price of €120m has now fallen, and the Reds would have the money for a deal anyway after selling Salah.

Whether that actually happens given the financial situation around Europe remains to be seen, but according to journalist Christian Falk, any move for Sancho is unlikely.

“That’s not true with one caveat,” he told BILD.

“Klopp/Sancho has been around for a while now, and of course, everyone would have loved it to play out like that, but to Liverpool, this summer is not feasible.

“Of course, they can still get in the Champions League, but if they miss out, they will miss out on extra income, so I say that will be nixed this summer.”
