EPL Matches to Bet on This Week

The week 9 of the Premier League is ahead of us and we’re entering a very interesting stage of the season. It is already possible to predict which teams will be fighting for the title this year – Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool and perhaps Man United and Chelsea can be title challengers too.

In the upcoming week, we’ll see some interesting matches, that’s for sure, but we feel that the following ones are going to be the best ones for betting.

  • Bournemouth vs. Tottenham;
  • Leicester City vs. Crystal Palace;
  • Man City vs. Southampton;
  • Chelsea vs. Man United.

Bournemouth vs. Tottenham

Tottenham managed to draw against WBA with a late equaliser by Dele Alli, thus losing their spot on the table. Their fierce rivals, Arsenal are now ahead of them. Tottenham have had a remarkable season, the players are playing like a unit and everyone expects them to go for the win against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth trashed Hull City 6 -1 last week and that will certainly boost their confidence. However, Tottenham with their strong midfield might be a tough nut to crack. Perhaps too tough. Therefore, the odds at evens for Tottenham are looking quite alright. Moreover, there are certain other markets for this match that you might want to consider.

    • Harry Kane to score at 5/4;
    • Tottenham and both teams to score at 3/1;
    • Tottenham and over 2.5 at 11/5;
    • Tottenham to score 2+ goals at 10/11.

Leicester City vs. Crystal Palace

Leicester are a mere shadow of the champions they were last year. A crushing defeat at the hands of Chelsea might prove to be wakeup call for Ranieri and his lads. The match against Palace at home might be a chance for the current champions to re-establish themselves as a powerhouse.

Palace, on the other hand, suffered a disappointing home defeat at the hands of the Hammers which saw them drop to 9th position on the table. However, they have been performing well this season and a well-adapted Benteke will surely be looking to increase his goal-tally in the match against the former champions. We think that this has the potential to be a high-scoring game, so the best odds for both teams to score at 13/16 look quite alright.

  • The 2/1 odds for Christian Benteke to score look good;
  • Leicester to score 2+ goals at 10/11 is another interesting bet;
  • Total goals over 3.5 at 5/2 is one bold, yet realistic bet.

Man City vs. Southampton

Southampton are on form this season and so far they’ve managed to stay in the top half of the table. Their secure 3-1 win against Burnley last weekend will sure have a positive influence on their form and confidence against City on Sunday.

City on the other hand, haven’t had a win in their last three matches and saw some have already suggested that things won’t be going as smoothly as Pep might’ve expected. After the loss at Tottenham they failed to win against Everton. They’ll be more than determined to secure a win against So’ton at home. The 4/7 odds on City seem quite fair.

  • Both teams to score and over 2.5 seems like a very reasonable bet at 21/10;
  • Both teams to score is a slightly safer bet at 3/4;
  • Man City to score 3+ goals at 8/5 is a bit riskier option.

Chelsea vs. Man United

Mourinho’s return to Stamford, but this time as a manager of Manchester United will surely be a huge event. Both teams have been struggling this season, despite the fact that there have been huge investments and personal changes at the managerial positions. Neither Conte nor Jose are where they hoped to be and surely will be looking to improve on their current form and standings.

That is certainly one reason why we feel that this will be another high-scoring game. Not to mention the fact that both teams have had some abysmal defensive performances. Furthermore, both teams have quite a few prolific strikers in their squad. Bearing all that in mind, the 5/7 odds on both teams to score looks like a bit of a bargain.

    • Chelsea to win and both teams to score at 10/3 looks promising;
    • We think there is a high probability of a penalty being awarded, hence the 14/5 odds look more than appealing;
    • Goal in both halves at 8/11 is another quite probable bet;
    • The odds on Costa and Ibrahimovic both to score at 5/1 might be appealing for those willing to take greater risks.
