Liverpool have been repeatedly linked with RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita in recent months and the interest from Jurgen Klopp is understandable. The 22 year old can perform a variety of roles in midfield and has scored 6 goals and contributed 7 assists in the Bundesliga so far this season.

German newspaper Bild title a Monday article ‘RANGNICK > Keita is
better than Pogba’

Ralf Rangnick is RB’s director of sport and is clearly a big fan of the Liverpool target, and Bild quote him further as saying: “Naby is a complete player for me. He has great abilities, a giant heart and a great mentality with and without the ball.”

Liverpool buying Keita this summer would be especially difficult. RB want to get into the Champions League and then make a go of it, selling Keita wouldn’t help that aim. With no buyout clause in Keita’s contract, RB are able to keep the player unless a ridiculous offer comes in for him.

Bild reiterate Liverpool interest, along with that of several other clubs. Klopp is often linked to Bundesliga players and Liverpool have already recruited from Germany, Keita could be the hardest target yet.
