RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff and manager Domenico Tedesco have hailed the atmosphere at Ibrox following their defeat to Rangers last night.

The German side were beaten 3-1 by Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in the second leg of their semi-final meeting in the Europa League.

Goals from James Tavernier, Glen Kamara and John Lundstram, with Christopher Nkunku scoring the Germans side’s only goal, sealed the win for the Scottish champions, who will now face Eintracht Frankfurt in the final.

Rangers had headed into the tie a goal down after Angelino’s strike in the first leg but were boosted by a raucous Ibrox that was bouncing long before a ball had been kicked.

The famous old stadium was it’s best once again, ready to push Rangers on to another impressive home win as it has done throughout their Europa League run this season.

That was something they managed to do, with Leipzig visibly wilting from the pressure of the fans and the home side flying.

Praise for the atmosphere after the game was forthcoming from all corners, and both Tedesco and his boss were a part of it.

“It was too little; it was not enough for a semi-final,” Kicker report Mintzlaff saying.

“Our performance was not enough against a team that was aggressive and emotional. We expected more; we have to analyse that.

“We already knew exactly how difficult it would be in this witch’s cauldron. Nevertheless, it’s still different from what you expect when you experience the atmosphere yourself.

“The atmosphere. It was electrifying, the best atmosphere I have ever experienced in a football stadium,” added Tedesco.
