West Ham United will sell Mohamed Kudus is ‘two or three years time’ as they know he’ll develop and secure them a profit down the line.

That’s according to former West Ham man John Paintsil, who has advised the player to focus on his family from here on out after securing his big money move to the Premier League.

Kudus completed a €43m move to the London Stadium at the end of last month after the Hammers made a definitive step to get him ahead of the competition.

David Moyes’ side have spent the money they received from the sale of Declan Rice to rebuild their midfield after his departure and secured Kudus’ signature with that money.

He arrives with a growing reputation in the game after three very impressive years at Ajax, where he was a key player for them in the Eredivisie and the Champions League, managing 27 goals and 12 assists in 87 games in all competitions.

The hope is that he can continue to kick on in the Premier League and become the big-name player that many believe he will be in the years to come.

Paintsil can certainly see that happening and believes West Ham have only signed him in the hope of making a major profit down the line.

“There is life after football and getting to West Ham, I will urge him to support his family more so that when he finishes his career, they will say that during your playing days this is what you did,” he told Graphic in Ghana.

“I am speaking from experience because when the family is happy, you are also happy, but when they are not happy, it affects your play on the pitch. So that’s the little advice I will give him, he should focus more on family.

“He is a young player, that’s why they signed him for five years. West Ham don’t sign players like that.

“Before, they will give you that number of years, it means they’ve seen something in you, and they know that in two or three years time, they can market him and make more money.”
