After rather laughable suggestions that Lazio could sign Manolo Gabbiadini as a replacement for Keita Baldé, Tuesday saw the start of a far more believable rumour sending West Ham’s Diafra Sakho to Italy instead.

Gazzetta dello Sport were the ones running with it, and their Wednesday edition as a nice little update on the matter, this time including a price the Senegalese forward could go for.

According to the Italian newspaper, the Hammers’ valuation of the 27-year-old stands at around €10m, which is rather affordable for Lazio, yet there’s a belief, because he’s only got one year left on his current deal, he could go for a bit less.

Dubbed as the ‘easiest’ target from their shortlist, we could end up with a situation where the Serie A side go around Europe for a bit trying to get slightly better players only to fail and return for West Ham’s Sakho towards the very end of the window.

Their ‘dream signing’ remains Porto’s Yacine Brahimi, but his wages and the price the Portuguese side would ask for the Algerian remain a stumbling block.
