Cristian Romero continues to be linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly setting their price tag on the defender.
Spanish outlet Marca have stated that the Lilywhites are asking for €70 million for the Argentine, who could link up with compatriot Diego Simeone at the Estadio Metropolitano in the summer.
The publication states, in fact, that Romero is a priority signing for the La Liga club as current players Cesar Azpilicueta and Axel Witsel are set to exit.

Last week, we covered the defender’s comments when he was a guest on Gastón Edul’s Los Edul, with TN relaying his comments.

“I try to take it one day at a time. There are two months left until the end of the season, and my focus is always on performing at my best and finishing in the best possible way,” he said.

“We’re in the Europa League semi-finals; it’s an important step for the club, after so many years of waiting to reach this stage. I’d like to win it.”

The 27-year-old joined Spurs for €52m in 2022 from Atalanta after an initial loan spell in North London.

He has played in 121 games for Tottenham so far, 18 of which have come during this abysmal campaign, in which they sit 16th in the Premier League table.

But Ange Postecoglou’s men still have a chance of gaining entry to the Champions League next season should they win the Europa League. Spurs are gearing up for their semifinal two-leg contest against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, and they could play either Manchester United or Athletic Bilbao in the final should they win.
