Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele can be ‘decisive’ for Napoli this season, once he’s adapted to life in Italy.
The Frenchman joined the Serie A side on loan in the summer, with Tottenham electing to send him out on loan again following an unsuccessful return to Lyon in the second half of last season.
He’s endured something of an inauspicious start to life in Naples, with a series of disappointing performances leading to questions being asked.
This week may have provided the start of his turnaround, though, with Ndombele bagging the third goal in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Rangers in the Champions League.
That strike came as a surprise to most, with reports in Italy today speculating that it could provide him with the launchpad for a successful season.
Massimo Donati is one who believes the Tottenham man can have a successful season, once he’s up to speed.
“Napoli is a team that has become aware of its own means,” Tutto Napoli report him saying.
“The new arrivals have integrated well; the group is mature and is showing its full value. The Azzurri’s performance against the Scots doesn’t surprise me.
“Raspadori wants to show himself in an important team, he is very hungry. Ndombele, on the other hand, just has to adapt to Serie A and Italian football.
“He has important qualities; he can prove decisive for Spalletti.”
