Anderlecht midfielder Josh Cullen was today ‘absent’ from their training camp in Horst as he nears a move to Burnley.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who say it ‘looks like’ Cullen will be following Vincent Kompany to Turf Moor.
The newspaper explains that ‘there is a bid’ from Burnley for the 26-year-old, and Anderlecht are negotiating with the Championship side over a deal.
The Clarets offered €2m for the midfielder last week, but that was turned down, with Anderlecht looking to get more out of the move.
Cullen only has one year left on his current deal with the Belgian side, but it seems they would like to make a greater profit on the €500,000 they paid to sign him from West Ham in October 2020.
How much Burnley are willing to pay remains to be seen, although they will likely be keen to keep the price down, giving Cullen’s contract situation.
Either way, there is a deal to be done, and his recent absence from the training camp in Horst suggests things are progressing on that front
