In the January transfer window, Leicester City’s Wout Faes was linked with a move to Italian side Lazio.

The Rome club considered signing the defender but the feeling was that it would be difficult to convince the Foxes about a sale in the middle of the season, and that Faes perhaps wasn’t worth such a big effort.

Now, an update has emerged about the Belgian’s future at Leicester City.

Corriere dello Sport report the centre-back is still a target for Lazio and they will have Faes on their shortlist in the summer transfer window.

The newspaper states that in January, the Foxes wanted €20m. Due to their relegation, the price tag is expected to be much lower. There is certainty the 27-year-old will depart the King Power Stadium at the end of the season due to an agreement between the two parties, which Corriere dello Sport say was reached even before relegation was confirmed.

Wout Faes’ camp appear to have been trying to engineer a Leicester City exit for quite some time, with repeat stories on the situation in Belgium.

Lazio’s true intentions will likely be guided by just how cheap he’ll be.
