Everton are one of the potential options for Marko Arnautovic this summer as he plans to leave China.
That’s according to Il Resto del Carlino, who say the Blues ‘may also’ make an offer to the Austrian alongside several sides in Europe.
Arnautovic looks destined to leave China, where he’s been with Shanghai SIPG since 2019, following the government’s plans to rein in spending in the Chinese Super League.
That’s seen several of the clubs tighten their belts and big stars, such as Arnautovic, looking likely to return to Europe.
The 32-year-old already has several suitors, including Bologna, whose interest and efforts to get him are covered by Il Resto del Carlino today.
They claim that the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace are keen on Arnautovic, but they are not the only ones in England who could make a move, with Everton also named as potential suitors.
That’s because the newspaper explains the Toffees were among the clubs Arnautovic’s agent ‘spoke to’ back in January with a view to a summer transfer.
If they do want him, they’ll have to move quickly, with Bologna ready to make their move to try and beat the competition.
Any move will be dependent on his agent reaching an agreement with Shanghai first, though, with the hope they’ll release him on a free from his deal, which currently runs until 2022, to set up a return to Europe.
