Valencia seem to be sniffing around Vicenete Guaita again.
Deporte Valenciano cover sources from the region which say the Crystal Palace goalkeeper is seen as a potential value addition, and that contact has already been made with the player’s entourage.
Any swoop for Guaita would only be possible if Valencia are able to sell Jasper Cillessen, suggesting the club aren’t happy with what they’ve seen from the former Barcelona goalkeeper.
Guaita isn’t the only target, however, he appears to be favoured because there’s a belief he could be signed relatively cheaply. The 33 year old’s contract with Crystal Palace expires in June 2021, and it’s stated the Premier League club would like to renew the deal.
Should that not be possible, there’s the assumption in Valencia that Palace would be forced to sell this summer, and do so at price which is attractive.
Deporte Valenciano point out that Guaita is valued at €5m by Transfermarkt. That may be the case, but it will have no relation to what Crystal Palace actually ask for, and it could be that when Valencia learn of the real price they walk away.
