Around a week ago, it was reported across various countries that Crystal Palace were interested in bringing Nabil Bentaleb back to the Premier League.
The midfielder, who previously played for Tottenham in England, has yet to feature for Schalke in the Bundesliga, pushed to one side by David Wagner, and a move elsewhere during the January transfer window would be best for him to get his career back on track.
Roy Hodgson, keen to keep Crystal Palace’s great first half of the season going, reportedly turned his attention on the Algeria international, who was also said to be keen to return to the Premier League.
Well, fast forward to Tuesday, and Le Buteur in Algeria believe Selhurst Park is the ‘most appropriate destination’ for the midfielder, where he could help them fight for a Europa League spot during the back end of the campaign.
The website believe Crystal Palace have ‘made him a first offer to try and seduce him’ as they try and get him to make the move back to England.
They even go as far as saying there is a ‘very big chance’ that Bentaleb could join the Eagles this transfer window.
This all seems far more advanced than what we’ve seen elsewhere, and while there is a mention of reports in England, all the information given in the second paragraph by Le Buteur doesn’t appear anywhere else.
Make of that what you will…
