Following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium last week, the Nerazzurri undoubtedly have a huge challenge ahead.
The club’s quest to go to Anfield and get the qualification for the Champions League’s quarter-finals is seen as nearly impossible by many people, but there are those in Italy who still have faith, as small as it is.
On Sport Mediaset, journalist Ricardo Trevisani pointed out that despite Inter Milan’s need for a ‘miracle’, their challenge could still be achievable in case they score an early goal.
“Inter need a great miracle to pass the Champions League round. Because to go on to win in Liverpool it will take one! But it is not impossible,” he said (via Inter News).
“Inter must go there to look for 0-2. And then hope for extra time. Inter have every chance to take the lead at Anfield. And if they do, it becomes another match. Liverpool get scared and Inter find confidence. In the first leg, Inter lacked a bit of confidence…”
While this remains a hot topic in Italy, there are a still couple of weeks before Liverpool have to start of thinking about Inter again.
The Reds play the League Cup final against Chelsea at the weekend, then an FA Cup tie versus Norwich City, and finally have a Premier League clash against West Ham.
The second leg against the Nerazzurri is scheduled for the 8th of March.
