Chelsea would ask for a figure of around €25m for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga if Real Madrid try to sign him permanently in the summer.
That’s according to journalist Eduardo Inda, who say Real Madrid are thinking about turning Kepa’s loan deal into a permanent switch.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been on loan with the Spanish side since the summer after arriving as a late replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who will miss the season with a knee injury.
He’s been number one for Carlo Ancelotti since and generally filling Courtois shoes quite well given they are rather large shoes to fill.
That’s led to speculation that Madrid will look to do a deal with Chelsea come the summer and sign Kepa on a permanent basis to compete with Courtois long-term.
Indeed, a report today revealed that the Spanish giants had negotiated a purchase option for the goalkeeper that had previously gone unmentioned.
That’s an option they could take up to get their man and Inda, while not stating that there is a clause in place, now states that Chelsea would have their man valued at €25m.
“Real Madrid is thinking about hiring Kepa permanently,” Fichajes report him saying.
“He has a contract with Chelsea until 2025 and it would cost about €25m. He cost Chelsea €80m.”
