Last week, Burnley were linked with a move for Lazio’s Loum Tchaouna and the Italian press later reported the Clarets were making quick progress in negotiations.
Burnley were said to be very close to a transfer that would cost them around €14m, and similar information was mirrored by the Swiss press.
Yesterday, Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani also spoke about the player’s situation, making it sound like a transfer is possible after approaches were made.
Alfredo Pedulla now presents an update on Tchaouna’s future and claims Burnley’s move is not as advanced as initially thought.
He states Scott Parker’s side are definitely interested but they have not gone beyond a simple survey.
Their approach is at a ‘too embryonic’ stage to call, with PSV Eindhoven also interested in the France U21s player.
Other than that, Lazio are yet to make a final decision about the player and while he could yet join Burnley, the move will not happen as quickly as first thought.
