Last week, reports from the English press said Tottenham Hotspur rejected a swap deal with Juventus.

It’s been claimed that the Old Lady offered Aaron Ramsey in exchange for Tanguy Ndombélé, and that wasn’t good enough for the London side to accept.

But the Italian media comes up with a different version of the story today, saying it was actually Tottenham who proposed the deal in first place.

Calcio Mercato brings a story saying Spurs were looking for a destination for the Frenchman, who has disappointed the club this season and couldn’t impress manager José Mourinho.

It’s claimed that Juventus are not looking for a player with Ndombélé’s characteristics, and they also consider him to be worth less than Ramsey.

So a simple swap would never work for the Italian side.

Calcio Mercato says the talks have been stopped for now, and considering what they’ve said, it’s actually impressive that they don’t rule out a deal entirely.

Instead, they say Ndombélé ‘is not a real target if traded on par with Ramsey’.
