Inter Milan have identified Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a new target for the summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A side currently have Denzel Dumfries as the major option for their right wing-back position, but his future beyond this season remains uncertain.
Therefore, Inter are looking around and are ‘very interested’ in Wan-Bissaka, and their sporting director, Piero Ausilio, held talks with his agent last summer.
Like the Dutchman, the Manchester United player has just over a year left on his contract, and the report says the latter can leave Old Trafford after this season.
Erik ten Hag’s side are planning to reshape their squad in the summer and taking the 26-year-old’s contract situation into account, Gazzetta say his asking price shouldn’t exceed €15m.
Wan-Bissaka started his career as a winger in Crystal Palace’s academy and this could help him adapt quickly to a wing-back role at the San Siro, if Inter were to secure his services. The Nerazzurri considering a move for him depends on Dumfries’ future.
As of now, there’s a stalemate between the two parties over the renewal negotiations, and Dumfries could be shown the exit door if there’s no extension. Gazzetta state the Italian club value him at €30m.
Manchester United could be an option for the former PSV Eindhoven man. With Inter very interested in Wan-Bissaka, a swap deal could be carried out or the Red Devils could offer him plus €15m in exchange for Dumfries.
InterLive.it say the Red Devils in particular could come forward again for the Netherlands international, after having looked at him in the past.
Ten Hag’s side like him and intermediates close to the two clubs could try to negotiate a direct swap deal involving the duo.
The report says this option doesn’t please Simone Inzaghi’s side since they won’t get money from his deal.
Inter value Dumfries at €30m and Wan-Bissaka at €15m, the latter valuation seems entirely unrealistic.
