Bayern Munich have turned their attention to Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo as they look for reinforcements in that area this month.
The German champions are keen to add in the position, and according to Sport Bild are focussing on two players, Thomas Meunier and the Portugal international
Cancelo joined Manchester City in a £58m deal from Juventus in the summer but has struggled to earn his place in Pep Guardiola’s side this season.
He has managed just six starts in the Premier League so far, with the majority of his game time having come in the cup competitions.
That has sparked rumours about a move away from the Etihad this month, with former club Valencia known to be keen.
Tottenham have also been named as suitors, but now Bayern Munich can be added to the list of admirers.
Sport Bild claim they are ‘desperately looking’ for reinforcement at right-back this month and Cancelo is on their list of potential recruits.
However, they are only interested in either a loan deal or a ‘cheap’ signing as they are planning a ‘large transfer offensive’ in the summer.
Cancelo would not be available on loan and would be too expensive to purchase, as he has a contract until 2025, which suggests this proposal may die before it even begins.
