A few months ago there were mild rumours that Bayern Munich are keen on signing Heung-min Son from Tottenham Hotspur.

The claims came, and quickly went away again.

Now Calciomercato have brought them back. In a brief Sunday article it’s stated the German club are ‘insisting’ on the signing.

There’s not much more said.

There’s also nothing in the German media right now to back this up, although it is thought Bayern will need to strongly enter the transfer market over the next couple of windows.

Niko Kovac has his job hanging by a thread, and the current Bundesliga champions are fifth in the table, 9 points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Should there be truth in the claims then Tottenham will be calm given the player’s contract situation. Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy know the 26 year old’s future is well protected for the club, with a new contract signed in July.

That deal takes Son to 2023, so Bayern can insist all they want… it’s Spurs who hold the power.
