Callum Hudson-Odoi has only played 42 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, but the 18 year old has been getting increasing game time in other competitions.
The youngster started the matches against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the weekend, impressing with his display, and against Tottenham in the EFL Cup at Wembley on Tuesday.
This is amidst claims of a move to Bayern Munich closing in. There have been endless reports, some of them contradicting, about the German club making offers and being close to signing the player.
Much to the frustration of Chelsea supporters, it appears Hudson-Odoi himself is looking towards that route rather than signing a renewal with the Premier League club. Efforts have been made from Stamford Bridge but have so far failed.
Now Bayern Munich’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has confirmed the club’s desire.
Speaking from the winter training camp, he’s quoted by Bild as saying: “He’s a very interesting player whom we absolutely want to sign. He has qualities that fit our game. His dribbling, he’s fast, has a good move to the goal.”
With Bayern going public with their wish to sign the player, and how much they rate him and his qualities, it’s going to be even more difficult for Chelsea to convince him that staying in London is the best plan for his career.
