Down the years we’ve become accustomed to hearing about the next big talent emerging at Barcelona, and Carles Pérez is the next name for you to keep an eye on.

The 21-year-old has been with Barcelona since 2012, joining as a youngster and steadily making his way up through the ranks.

The beginning of this season has seen him starring in the first team, with injuries giving him his chance to impress manager Ernesto Valverde.

That’s something he’s done, scoring one goal and registering two assists in his first three games in a Barcelona shirt.

That form has got tongues wagging and Marca report it could see him ending up with a brand new contract at the Nou Camp.

They say that Pérez’s current contract has a clause in it which, after seven games in the first-team, sees him become an official first-team player at Barcelona.

It also includes an option of two further years, and those would be instantly activated once that clause is met, while he would also see an improvement in his salary.

Whether he hits those games this season remains to be seen, with Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi set to return from injury, but Barça are not likely too concerned, with Marca saying the management at the club have ‘high hopes’ for Pérez moving forward.
