A severe hamstring tear for Ousmane Dembélé looks set to force the Barcelona forward to spend the rest of the season away from the pitch.

The Spanish champions are looking to bring in a replacement for the World Cup winner as under certain conditions, La Liga clubs are allowed to make new additions outside the transfer window, if any of their players suffers a serious injury.

On February 5th, Sport reported Getafe’s Ángel Rodríguez has been identified as a target.

Later that day, the same newspaper explained the Catalan club have made first contact over signing Real Betis’ Borja Iglesias.

La Vanguardia now reports the Camp Nou side are thinking about Alavés’ Lucas Pérez to ‘replace Dembélé‘.

It’s claimed the former Arsenal man has a release clause of €20m and he now joins Getafe’s Ángel as two alternatives considered by Quique Setién’s side.

Having arrived at Alavés from West Ham United last summer, Pérez has impressed in his debut season, scoring eight goals and registering four assists in 21 league appearances.
