Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo went big on potential signings for Barcelona in the upcoming transfer windows.

There’s clearly a hope that the exits of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, plus potential increased revenue as new commercial deals are found and Covid-19 restrictions eased further, will see the club in a better financial state when future windows come.

Dani Olmo has been the man most seriously linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, with claims of a move for the RB Leipzig player late in the last market.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Olmo aims to be the ‘sure bet’ for the Blaugrana next season, and work has already started on a transfer. That dates back to the last window, with it stated Barcelona were given permission to speak with their former player, and he immediately agreed to joining them.

That was before salary was discussed and in the end things didn’t get that far, however, it’s thought the whole thing is simply on hold until next summer.

Barcelona will even try in January, if there’s any signal RB Leipzig would be receptive to a move in the winter market. Should that not be the case, then they’ll simply wait a few more months.
