Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo report Clement Lenglet moving to Barcelona is now very close. It’s even stated the move could happen ‘in the next few hours’, with Barca now in a fresh financial year.
Mundo Deportivo lean on Diario de Sevilla for some of their information, and over there it’s claimed Sevilla already know their central defender will play for Barcelona next season.
The Frenchman has agreed a five year contract with the La Liga champions and the €35m termination clause will be paid.
It’s thought the transfer will be announced on Monday, but Diario de Sevilla don’t rule out that it could actually be on Sunday instead, showing how far along it’s thought the deal is now.
Another Seville newspaper, Estadio Deportivo, are holding out some last hope, and they state that Lenglet has been made a fresh renewal offer by his current club.
Diario de Sevilla said similar but they didn’t think it had got anywhere or made any difference, whereas Estadio Deportivo reckon Lenglet has asked for a couple of days to consider things.
