Arsenal and transfers really winds up the Catalan press, it’s been an entertaining situation down the years. The Catalan media believe Arsenal have stolen players from La Masia, which is bad enough, and then sold players to Barcelona at far higher price than their true value.
Every now and again, one of the Catalan newspapers has a strop and explains how bad a deal, or deals, have been and how Arsenal came out much better.
Today has been a perfect opportunity, with Alex Song leaving Barcelona and signing for Ruibn Kazan. The lead story on Sport’s website right now covers the ‘appalling’ figures of the transfer, which starts off with the €19m they say was sent to Arsenal for the midfielder.
