Barcelona have announced that Sergi Roberto has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Spaniard is the latest player in the squad to be infected by the virus and fortunately he’s still in good health, with Mundo Deportivo reporting he’s currently isolating at home.
Tests will now be carried out on those who had close contact with the player, although it’s not thought to be a wider worry for Barcelona.
Marca report that Roberto is expected to be out for around eight weeks with a muscle injury, and given he’s just over a week into that period, this positive test shouldn’t have an impact on his return date.
Samuel Umtiti, Miralem Pjanic and Jean Clair Todibo are the previous three players at the club to have had positive Covid-19 tests, although it’s thought they all picked up the virus whilst away from the club.
